Credit Card Processing with Benefits to Non-Profit Organizations

Almost every business in America accepts credit cards.  In today’s world, most people don’t write checks anymore or have large amounts of cash in their wallets to pay for goods and services.  Even when companies do business to business transactions, it is easier for them to pay and get paid by credit card.  It makes good business sense as it is a quicker and easier way of making payments and get paid.  That’s why it is a smart idea to have a merchant account, accepting credit cards, especially since the fees charged for the transactions are business expenses.

Even a company without a retail location can accept credit cards as now there are wireless terminals and even apps for smart phones where a card can be swiped with your cell phone.  The same holds if a company does business via the internet.  No problem! The customers can pay by filling out a form and clicking a few buttons when they buy online.

Therefore, companies have to have a merchant account with a credit card processing company.

One credit card processing company, First Financial Merchant Services, out of Medina, Minnesota has a unique program in place where merchants have the opportunity to generate donations for the charity of their choice, without spending any money. All they have to do is process their credit cards with First Financial Merchant Services. When merchants choose First Financial for their credit/debit card processing, First Financial will make a quarterly donation to the charity that is near and dear to the merchant’s heart as a part of their GiveBack program.  The donations will be generated and paid out as long as the business is a merchant with First Financial Merchant Services.

The GiveBack program is an invention of First Financial Merchant Services. It was initiated in the fall of 2005 when President John Eliason discovered he was in the unique position to donate to charities by redirecting existing funds instead of creating new ones. In the credit card industry, merchants pay a fee to have the money they make from credit cards turned into cash. The GiveBack program takes part of that fee that the merchants already pay and donate it to charity.

Any organization can partner with First Financial Merchant Services to become part of the GiveBack program.  Then they get a donation each and every time a merchant, who is signed up in their name, swipes a credit card.  Today, there are almost 500 non-profit organizations nationwide that benefit from these donations generated by merchants simply accepting credit cards from their customers.

Any merchant can partner with First Financial Merchant Services to become part of the GiveBack program.  There is no cost to move their businesses to First Financial Merchant Services and there is no extra fee associated with participating in the GiveBack program.  The charity simply receives a portion of the fee the merchant already pays, so the money already exists!
